Public Service Fellows Program
The Partnership for Public Service is seeking current students or recent graduates to join our team and contribute to our mission.

Selection Process
Application deadline is July 9, 2010. Applications will be reviewed internally, and we hope to have Fellowship offers extended by Friday, August 6.
Within one month from the application deadline you should expect to hear from the Fellowship Coordinators via email regarding the determination of your application and the possibility of an interview (including telephone interviews). We anticipate Fall Fellows beginning work in mid-August, but start dates are flexible based on teams. We will work with individuals based on academic or work-related reasons.
- Full time fellows with an undergraduate or graduate degree will receive a $1000 per month stipend.
- Full time fellows who are currently undergraduate students will receive an $800 per month stipend.
- Part time fellow stipends will be pro-rated accordingly.
- Volunteer applications may also be accepted. Please email to inquire further about volunteer status.
Fellowship Positions
Each fellow applies for a particular position or positions based on their skills and interests.
GWU Work Study - Government Transformation
The Center for Government Leadership hosts a variety of leadership programming for federal employees. In order for these programs to truly be successful, we need a dedicated and competent staff that cares about federal leadership and government effectiveness. This position will involve a variety of tasks, such as writing, research, data entry and organizing logistics for events. Experience with events and logistics would be preferable, but it is not required. This work study position would be expected to work between 15 and 20 hours per week.

GWU Work Study - Communications
This position will generally support the Partnership's communication efforts to change public perceptions, educate the public about federal workforce issues and help connect citizens to their government. Duties will include assisting the communications team with event planning, media relations, publications and project marketing. Specific role and responsibility will be determined based on the candidate's interests, abilities and availability. Ideally, this candidate would work 10-20 hours per week.

GWU Work Study - Education and Outreach
The Education and Outreach team works to educate and inspire top talent about federal opportunities and transform recruiting and hiring practices across government. Education and Outreach assistants play a critical role in the team's efforts to work with various stakeholders and inspire Americans to consider government careers. Duties will vary, but they will likely include: researching and developing new materials and resources; updating and writing content for our Web sites; analyzing data using Microsoft Excel; maintaining organizational contacts; assisting with event planning; and various administrative tasks. A qualified applicant will possess several of the following attributes: experience using Web sites, experience planning events, familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite, outstanding writing and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and excellent time-management skills. Preference will be given to candidates who can work for four-hour blocks of time.

GWU Work Study - Administrative
This position will provide general support to the organization's accounting team. Duties will include assisting the accounting department in day-to-day activities, such as generating and tracking invoices and payments, A/R reports, reconciliations and other accounting-related functions. Requirements: detail-oriented; team orientation; some experience with basic accounting methods; eagerness to learn; interest in nonprofit organizations and management.
